Free dog training to owners of "power breed" dogs adopted from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control
#11705
What: Pet owners who adopt "power breed" dogs (pit bull, Rotweiller, for example) from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control will now be able get two months of dog training, free of charge, thanks to a new agreement between Minneapolis Animal Care & Control and Animal Humane Society.

The agreement will also give individuals who adopt any pet from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control a free introductory class (humans only) and a $20-off training pass at any of the five Animal Humane Society locations (Golden Valley, Buffalo, Coon Rapids, St. Paul and Woodbury).

Minneapolis Animal Care & Control and Animal Humane Society have a long-standing partnership and this new agreement will help increase the socialization and training of dogs in Minneapolis. Training a dog not only improves their life but also enhances the bond between dog and owner. What’s more, a trained dog is a safer dog that can go places without being a risk or nuisance to others.
