Teen Try-It Tuesdays, Tuesdays, July 8 and Aug. 12, 1-2:30 p.m. Are you creative? Do you like to try new things? Bring a friend to have fun and learn a new skill: duct tape creation, origami, fun with fleece or magnet magic. Materials provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Northeast Library.

Act Out for Teens: Intro to Physical Comedy, Wednesday, July 9, 1-2:30 p.m. Entering grades 6-9. Are you ready to get serious about being funny? An experienced Guthrie teaching artist will help you explore theater techniques for a wide variety of physical comedy. Let your humor run wild in a safe and creative environment. No experience necessary. This project is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Presented in collaboration with Guthrie Theater.

Skateboard Art, Thursday, July 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Registration required, begins Jun 26. Entering grades 7-12. Using permanent markers and templates, create art on a skateboard deck. Materials provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Hennepin County Library and MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency).

Teen Book Club, Monday, Aug. 11, 3-4:30 p.m. Registration required, begins Jul 14. Entering grades 6-12. Join other teens to talk about a great book. Lending copies may be picked up at the information desk prior to meeting.

Inflation 101: A Workshop on Balloon Sculpting, Thursday, July 10, 2 p.m. Learn how to make those cool balloon sculptures that professional balloon artists can make. For grades 6-12. Registration required .

Crafternoons: Yarn Creatures, Wednesday, July 1, 3-5 p.m. Each week will feature a different project. All supplies provided. Registration is appreciated, though not required.

Anime and Manga Club, Thursdays, July 17 and 31, 2-5 p.m. Read manga, watch anime, do crafts, and eat snacks. For teens in grades 6-12.

Recycled Runway, Thursday, July 24, 2-4 p.m. Start with thrift store treasures that you alter, embellish, and remake in to something one-of-a-kind. Bring a t-shirt that you don’t mind cutting up. For grades 6-12. Registration required.
