Silverwood garden, art & insect tours

What: Silverwood Park in St. Anthony offers three themed walking tours on Sunday, July 27. From 1-2 p.m., join Arla Carmichiel, Three Rivers Park District’s Horticulturist, for a tour of Silverwood’s gardens. Stroll through the formal garden areas while learning some of the tips and tricks that have gone into designing the park’s planted areas. Program costs $5; all ages welcome. From 2-3 p.m. you can walk with an artist, touring the current gallery show and exploring the sculptures installed along the trails. Free; all ages. From 5-6 p.m., bug-lovers can walk with entomologist Andrea Hefty, and learn how insects live in diverse habitats and are well-adapted to survive. Free; all ages. Call 763-559-6700 for more details.
