St. Anthony Parkway Bridge is open for walking/biking

According to an article in the Star Tribune, the St. Anthony Parkway Bridge is open for walking/biking again: "Bicyclists and pedestrians can now travel down the center of the soon-to-be-replaced span over two dozen tracks of the BNSF rail yard, the city announced Friday....The ban on vehicles remains until further notice."

Kids entering grades 1-2 can learn how to walk like a bear, creep like a tiger or be like a tiny fly, Tuesday, July 29, 2-3:30 p.m. at the Webber Park Community Building, 4400 Dupont Ave. N. An experienced Guthrie teaching artist will show fun and creative ways to use imaginative movement. Registration required, begins July 1. Register online at www.hclib.org, or call 612-543-6750. North Regional LibraryLibrary Friends Groups throughout Hennepin County host book sales to raise funds for their local library. North Regional Library, 1315 Lowry Ave. N., will have a sale Saturday, Aug. 2, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 3, noon-4 p.m. featuring hundreds of adult and children’s fiction and nonfiction books in hardcover and paperback. Most books are priced at $2 or less.

Minneapolis Public Schools offers a summer food service program which provides meals to all children ages 1-18 without charge, at select school and community sites. The program runs through Friday, Aug. 15 (unless noted); no food service July 4. The annual "Live on the Drive" outdoor concert series begins Thursday, June 12, 6 p.m. with Thomasina Petrus. The free concerts are held at 34th Ave. N and Victory Memorial Pkwy. and are followed by a movie at dusk. The second concert will be Thursday, July 10, 6 p.m. with Clocks and Clouds.
